Magha's deities are the ancestors and its symbol is a throne, which together make it the division of inherited position. Not earned status but received status: the name one is born into, the seat that was occupied before and is occupied again. Everything about it looks backwards before it looks forward.
Ketu rules it, and that combination is the interesting part. Ketu detaches, so Magha frequently produces people who hold a lineage and are ambivalent about it in the same breath. Read practically, the question is what is being carried on out of genuine conviction and what is being carried on because it was handed over. Those are different weights, and only one of them is worth the carrying.
