Nakshatras / Dhanishta

Dhanishta

धनिष्ठा

The 23rd of the twenty-seven nakshatras, spanning 23°20′ Capricorn – 6°40′ Aquarius.

The symbol is a drum, and the Vasus are the deities of abundance in its material form. Dhanishta is rhythm and wealth in the same breath, which sounds odd until one notices that both are about keeping time: the beat that others fall in with, and the accumulation that only works if it is regular.

Mars rules it, so there is drive and a natural fit with performance, music and any work where timing decides the outcome. The characteristic problem is tempo. Someone with strength here sets a pace that suits them and expects others to match it, and will read a slower colleague as uncommitted rather than differently built. Noticing that is worth more than any remedy.

Written for study, not prediction. A nakshatra describes a texture, not a fate, and nothing on this page should be read as a forecast of events.
