Krittika belongs to Agni, and fire in this tradition is not destruction but separation: it takes a mixed thing and leaves what will not burn. The symbol is a blade. Both point the same way, towards cutting, sorting, and the refusal to let something muddled pass as whole.
That makes it the sharpest critical faculty in the zodiac and also the least comfortable to live beside. The Sun rules it, which adds certainty to the sharpness. Read honestly, the difficulty is rarely the judgment itself, which is usually correct. It is that the same blade gets turned inward, and people with weight in Krittika are often far harder on themselves than anyone around them has thought to be.
