Mula means root, and the symbol is roots pulled up and tied together. The tradition is direct about what this means: it is the division of getting to the bottom of something, and getting to the bottom of something requires disturbing what was growing above it. Nirriti, its deity, presides over dissolution.

Ketu rules it, and the combination produces genuine investigative depth. Mula does not accept surfaces and will keep digging after everyone else has agreed to stop. The cost is that the same instinct applied to one's own life is corrosive, since not every foundation benefits from being pulled up to check. The useful distinction is between examining a thing and destabilising it, and it has to be made consciously, because it does not arrive on its own.

Written for study, not prediction. A nakshatra describes a texture, not a fate, and nothing on this page should be read as a forecast of events.
