- Ruling graha
- Jupiter
- Deity
- Indra and Agni
- Symbol
- a triumphal arch
- Gana
- Rakshasa
The symbol is an archway, the structure one passes under on arriving, and the deities are Indra and Agni together, power and fire in a single pair. Vishakha is the division of concentrated purpose: the long approach to a goal, and the willingness to subordinate everything else to it until the goal is reached.
Jupiter rules it, which keeps the ambition attached to meaning rather than mere acquisition. The difficulty is what happens at the arch. Vishakha is notoriously better at pursuit than at arrival, and the pattern to watch is the immediate replacement of one goal with another so that the person never has to sit with having got what they wanted. That is worth naming, because it can consume a decade unnoticed.
